I see it much too often, people fail to realize that they stop themselves from actually succeeding, they dismiss their own abilities. It’s always along the lines of “I don’t know this, so I can’t”. This is one of the most damaging lies anyone can tell themselves, similarly to the infamous “I don’t have time!”, it dismisses one’s own ability. More importantly, the thought of not being able to achieve something due to a lack of knowledge is likely the biggest dream-killer in existence.
I’m going to propose a new method to approach this situation, instead of telling yourself I don’t know how! Tell yourself how do I learn it?
See the difference, it’s similar to a famous saying coined by Robert Kiyosaki, in his best selling book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad. To paraphrase, he states that we shouldn’t tell ourselves we can’t afford it, but instead ask ourselves how can we afford it? This, as a matter of fact, is a principle that I believe applies to a multitude of aspects of one’s life.
I urge you, dear reader, to always ask yourself how to achieve something before concluding that you can’t. You would be surprised to see what a difference this can make.
