Enjoy Your Life

I recently stumbled upon a video from prominent entrepreneur and social media personality, Gary Vaynerchuk (Link to the video) about a truly depressing reality. The fact of the matter is that most people hate, if not despise, their jobs, and this represents about 64% of their week. Put this into perspective, if you lived to be 100, you would have despised 64 years of your life, is this a life worth living? I don’t think so, instead, change your life. Being alive is an incredible thing, so why not make the most of it?

Despite this sad truth, it’s possible to change your life. Overall, the process of change can be split into three different steps:

Step 1: No More Excuses

If you want to make a change in your life, you have to stop dismissing your own ideas and abilities. It’s completely possible to be successful, and in order to achieve that success, you need to stop making excuses to not even try. Taking risks is an important part of life, let them be calculated and logical. Find ways to get rid of your excuses, and take the first step towards success.

Step 2: Put in Effort

Naturally, to achieve your goals or to be successful, you have to put in effort. I don’t mean an hour a day, or two, or three. I mean as much time as humanly possible. Sure, you can eat out every once in a while, but set yourself systems and remain committed. Know this, if you only put in mediocre effort, you will only achieve mediocre results.

Step 3: Do not Fear Failure

Similarly to step 1, the fear of failure has a very drastic impact on our psyche, we dismiss our own ability to succeed. If you fear failure, you won’t even try. Think about it this way; what’s worse, taking the risk, or spending the rest of your life working, hating over 64% of it?
